Name: Teresa Lucas

Membership #:   164029

Nickname: Sparky

Hometown: Pensacola, FL

Marital Status: Single, but have no intentions of remaining that way !! Single life is ok, but would rather have a man around to share the adventure with. It would nice to get married at some point in time before I get too much older.

Age: 46 1/3

Children: I have 4 of the four legged species: An 11 ½ year old wiener dog (Chrissey) & a 10 cat (Belle) that live with their dad, (my x-boyfriend). I do get to have my wiener dog to come spend time with me whenever I want. Which is groovy.

The other two live with me: A 9 month old cat (Cage) & a brand new 7 week old wiener dog, whose current name is “Kamier”.

About Me: I was born at the Navy Hospital aboard NAS in February 1962. My dad was in the Navy & we moved a couple of times & returned to Pensacola in 1967. Lived in Myrtle Grove  & graduated from Escambia High School in 1980. Went through PJC’s Dental Assisting Program 1980 -1981. Worked in the dental field for years and ended up being the director of the Dental Assisting Program @ PJC.

I have never been married, (unless you recognize “living in sin’ for 15 years” a common law marriage). I am now single and I have finally adjusted to the single life, which is ok, but not what I want for a long term situation.

I love the beach the many activities that can be done in and around the water. Kayaking, fishing, diving, ect…..
My other hobbies include using my power tools such as my trusty 20” chain saw, gardening, reading, doing crafts, and of course EATING !!

When did you FIRST THINK about getting a motorcycle? 1973 That is also the year that I decided that the Saints were the best football team around & they needed me as a life long fan. I thought for sure that they would make it to Superbowl.
Well………. at least I did get my motorcycle. :}
I really do not like odd numbers, but since I bought my first bike in ‘05 & it was a ’03 model, and now I own a 2005, maybe some odd numbers are ok.

What attracted you to your current bike? Merle & Cherilyn Cohagan made me an offer that I couldn’t refuse.

Fastest you’ve ridden? I am unable to answer that question, due to the fact that I do not have a GPS to provide me with a “real time’ speed calculation.

How long does it take you to polish your bike? A while. Since I am so hyper, I sometimes get bored really easy with a task that I am doing and end up doing two,  three, ok, sometimes more than three things at once. But I do eventually complete most of the tasks.

Helmet or no helmet? I do indeed wear a helmet, but respect the right for each adult individual to choose for themselves.

How many bikes have you owned? Two

If you could change something about your bike, what would it be? My seat ! (Which I will be ordering tomorrow YEAH !!!)

What is the next accessory you will be adding? Highway pegs, chrome radiator grill cover, luggage rack, and I am sure more as I can afford it.

Favorite road song? No particular one. I like enjoy a wide variety of music and love to listen while I ride.

What are 3 lessons you’ve learned about riding safely in the past 12 months?
1) You must continue to practice your stopping skills. In fact you should practice a least one skill EVERY time that you get on your bike.
2) The “Ride Like A Pro” 4 hour course provided my with some great skills that has enabled me to be a motorcycle operator instead of a rider.
3) Watch out for those left hand curves in Blackwater Forest !

Longest ride? Up to Georgia last July (2007)

What was the worst weather you’ve ridden? Rain when returning back from the Outpost last summer. Had never ridden in rain, and at one point on my way home, I had to ride by myself. I was scared because it was night & just plain scary. But, I survived.

Favorite time of the year to ride? Fall, Winter & Spring. Summer for a little while, but that is why I am happy to be able to live in an area that I can enjoy the water. Easier to stay cooled down while fishing or kayaking or other water activities.

Next event you would like to attend? 2008 Georgia State Rally. Have reservations for the national rally in Memphis in August, but unfortunately, it is held at the same time that I return to back to work for the fall, so not sure if I will make that one :{

Ever hit any critters, alive or dead? Unfortunately, yes. About two weeks ago I hit a squirrel, I think. I did not look back or turn the bike around to investigate any further than the little “thud” that felt right as the squirrel tried to take me out.

Do you have a ride bell on your bike? Of course ! I certainty do not want be attacked by any of those evil gremlins, (which are more than likely relatives of clowns who are extremely evil and live under grates).

Why do you ride? It makes me feel happy. And then I look around at the faces of the friends that I am riding with, & they have big smiles on their faces & I know that happiness is being shared which is really groovy for me.

What is your “dream machine”? A well mannered, likes to enjoy life, man that is absolutely in love with me. OH, you mean Dream Machine Motorcycle !  Well that I do not know right now.

If you had only 7 bucks left in your wallet, what would you do with it? Buy a Diet Mt. Dew ($1.50), & four packages of shelled sunflower seeds ($2.00), and put the rest into the gas tank & ride east along the beach.

Why did you join the Pensacola SCRC Chapter? Heard it was a good group of people to ride with. Which has turned out to be absolutely true, AND I found that they like to eat, which is great cuz eating is one of my favorite hobbies :}
