Tell a little bit (brag) about yourself: The rest of the story … Started off as a farm boy  (GREAT PARENTS) … graduated to a preachers kid with the usual “acting out” done by PK’s (preacher and policeman kids).  Expelled from high school three times for three days at a whack … and not for grades.

Rode friend’s motorcycles in high school … same for a while in college … then Triumphs … raced dirt bikes (Yamaha’s) for a while in Japan (modified 125’s and 250’s).  Time in the military (30 years) was not all great but every second I spent flying while in was tremendous.  If I could fly when I want now, you probably would not see me on the motorcycle … a true love and thrill that is exceeded only by the love I have of my bride of 42 years … and our two girls.  Nuff said

When did you FIRST THINK about getting a motorcycle? In college (1963) but could not afford it BUT had a good friend that let me use one of his.

What attracted you to your current bike? Rainman got me started again and found one just like his on the internet for a bargain price.

Fastest you’ve ridden? 135 mph … and that was not smart ( a common experience for me)

How long does it take you to polish your bike? Way too long.

Helmet or no helmet? Helmet for sure and one would fully understand that if they saw me at Ride like a Pro.

How many bikes have you owned? 5

If you could change something about your bike, what would it be? I like both that I have.

What is the next accessory you will be adding? No money … no more accessories … spending what little have left on this summer’s trip.

Favorite road song? All country .

What are 3 lessons you’ve learned about riding safely in the past 12 months?
Don’t ride beyond yours skills … don’t ride beyond your skills … and don’t ride beyond your skills.

Longest ride? 958 TX to IN.

What was the worst weather you’ve ridden? Heavy rain in a toronado.

Favorite time of the year to ride? Yes.

Next event you would like to attend? Any I can afford and when my bride can go along.

Ever hit any critters, alive or dead? Armadillo, squirrel, cat (all alive),  Two bird kills with my helmet.

Do you have a ride bell on your bike? Yup

Why do you ride? Duh … because I love it and the company.

What is your “dream machine”?

If you had only 7 bucks left in your wallet, what would you do with it? Call a friend who had more money and a great probability of loaning me some … and then take the other $6.50, find a cheap bar and have five or six beers.

Why did you join the Pensacola SCRC Chapter? Invited by Rainman and enjoyed the fellowship and professional riding done by the vast majority…the rest of us being learners.
