About Me: I was born in the log cabin my daddy built. Thought my name was “Get Wood” till I was 15. Oh, that’s another story. ;-)
I was born and raised in Cantonment. We moved in the house my folks still live in when I was two years old. We had cows and horses, pigs and chickens, dogs and cats. We buried some and ate the rest. When I was a kid we would stay gone from home exploring the surrounding countryside till time for supper. We road mini-bikes and a couple of mini trail 50s. Mostly running the woods and the dirt roads breaking parts and trying to make them run faster.
I have a 29yo adopted daughter in Miss. My 21yo daughter lives with her and goes to USA in Mobile. And my stepdaughter is13 is learning how to be a teenagers. Lynn and I have been married for two years. It truly was a blessed crooked road that lead us together.
I work for Solutia as a group leader in a control room. I guess I’ll be doing this till the Lotto comes in.

When did you FIRST THINK about getting a motorcycle? I never got to ride a real motorcycle till I was in my 20s. My ex-father in-law had a Kawasaki KZ900 and a KZ1000. I road both every chance I got. I never knew all the wrong things I was doing. I guess I’m lucky nothing bad happened.
I could never have one of my own till my kids got grown. I lucky to have a wife who lets me do what makes me happy. I’ve always wanted to ride. Lynn helps make my dream come true.

What attracted you to your current bike? I just kept looking over there. I kept hearing this faint sound saying… “Come try this big 2053cc monster V-Twin. I guess she picked me.

Fastest you’ve ridden? Silly man in a Mustang GT leaving the red light in Cantonment headed south. He thought he was fast so I had to open the throttle up and run through the gears. When I knew he was far behind I let off and glanced down to see the needle at just under 120mph. I guess that’s really around 112mph. Don’t tell Lynn. I promise not to do it again. ;-)

How long does it take you to polish your bike? 5 minutes to just clean the bugs off the windshield. 15 minutes if I’m just doing a quick clean. An hour if I want to get her looking pretty good.

Helmet or no helmet? Helmet always. I have ridden without and love the feeling but I think it’s the better choice for me to ride with one.

How many bikes have you owned? Two. Suzuki C50T was a nice starter. Very low weight. Easy to maneuver.

If you could change something about your bike, what would it be? I’m not very happy with the Corbin for comfort. I love the look but, it was not worth what I paid for it.

What is the next accessory you will be adding? I have to choose? I already ordered the gel pad so I’ll put in on next.

Favorite road song? Why does it pop into my head every time we get out on some long stretch of highway. Get your motor runnin…. Head out on the highway… Is that lame or what?

What are 3 lessons you’ve learned about riding safely in the past 12 months? Lean baby Lean, Scrapping floorboards is a GOOD thing,  Be carful when your behind Mike. Opps, did I say that out loud? I’m kidding Mike

Longest ride? A little over 300 miles. I enjoyed it, I was tired but, ready to go again. I want to do a long overnighter but, I don’t know when I’ll be able to now that I am working shift work again.

What was the worst weather you've ridden? I think the worst was a micro burst Lynn and I ran in to heading over to Gulf Shores. My left side was soaked long before my right ever got wet. I could not see Lynn on her bike just ahead of me.

Favorite time of the year to ride? Fall, I can’t wait for the fall.

Next event you would like to attend? Party in the Panhandle

Ever hit any critters, alive or dead? Ran over something dead last week. Killed lots of Luv-Bugs. I hit a June bug with my nose once.

Do you have a ride bell on your bike? Yep, So far so good.

Why do you ride? I love the getting out on the road seeing the countryside. Seeing new places. I’ve always loved to travel. Riding lets me take short vacations every time through my leg over that saddle.

What is your “dream machine”? I don’t know. I like many bikes. MANY!! I’d be happy to have several in my garage.

If you had only 7 bucks left in your wallet, what would you do with it? Lynn, can I have some money, baby?

Why did you join the Pensacola SCRC Chapter? Lynn and I had been riding and would often take the same routes over and over. I decided to check out clubs in the area because the guys I know at work are always too busy to ride. Finding some new friends who love to ride, quickly became the reason to join Pensacola SCRC. Thanks Y’all.
